An article re Nielsen's "live" ratings:
Nielsen Asked To Replace Live Only Data

It sounds like a good idea. It would benefit soaps and scripted programs in general. There is not much delayed viewing for news, sports, talk shows, game shows...

But I'm confused because I've never seen Live only data, it's always Live + same day, which includes delayed viewing until 3 AM. Maybe some companies still work with Live only.

Thanks, this demo is pretty depressing now. I remember when all 4 soaps had over 500,000 women 18-49 almost every week.

I actually don't see how the situation could improve significantly. Eg., Y&R has similar total numbers they had in 2012. Could they attract 1-1,5 millions more viewers in 2018? Not likely.

I wonder how much influence in ratings increase Fall 2015 had the fact that they had the 50th anniversary and did a lot of promotion.
